I am teaching knitting at Michaels Store in Sanford, FL. If you would like to sign up for classes, please visit the store which is right near the Sanford Towne Center Mall. The actual physical address of the store is 107 Town Center Boulevard.

All classes are $25 for 2 ½ hours of instruction.

Once you pay for your class, you’ll get a course description with supplies that are needed. Michael’s is generously offering a 10% discount on supplies for classes! If you’d like to wait until the day of the class, I’ll happily accompany you to the Yarn Department and help you choose your supplies! I’m always at the store 30 minutes before the class is due to begin.

Jan 16, Feb 6, Feb 28 – Time for Knit – Intro to Sock Knitting

 Knit a pair of slipper socks to be felted. With two skeins of worsted weight wool and circular needles, you can learn the basics of sock knitting on a large scale!

*Must know knit & purl; helpful to know how to knit on circular needles.

Supplies-        2 or3 skeins of Patons Classic Wool or other worsted weight yarn

                        16” US #10 circular needle

                        1 set US #10 double pointed needles

                        Tapestry needle

Jan 30, Feb 13 – Time for Knit – Intro to Stranded Knitting

We’ll be knitting a Gadget Cozy, a 5”x8” rectangular clutch for your e-reader or iPhone or even knitting gadgets!

*Must be very comfortable with knit & purl

 Supplies-        2 skeins (2 different coordinating colors) Patons Grace or other DK  weight yarn.

                        US #5 needles

                        Tapestry needle

                        1 button for closure (can be bought later!)

Feb. 20, Feb 27 – Stash-Buster Shawl

Use up “stashed” yarn or buy some new. Three “weights” of yarn make this an eye-catching shawl that you can wear in Florida!

*Must know knit, purl, increases (K1F&B, YO)

Supplies –       150m lace weight or 75m fingering yarn (Main)

                        40m DK or light worsted (contrast color 1)

                        200m lace weight (contrast color 2) to be held triple or 70m worsted weight

                        US #7 circular needle 32” or longer

Class #6 – Discover Mitered Knitting – Patchwork Blanket

Jan. 24 & Feb. 21       10am – 12:30pm

Class #7 – Discover Garter Stitch: Baby Blanket & Booties

Jan 29 & Feb7            10am – 12:30pm

Knitting Night – Social Time – $5 bring a friend!

Not time for lessons but time to visit and share with other knitters! You’re welcome if you crochet, too!
